The American multinational corporation, Apple Inc. is all set to discontinue the production of the iPhone 5C Smartphone next year, around the middle of 2015, as per the reports. The Apple suppliers ‘Wistron’ and ‘Foxcom’ are looking forward to close the production around that time, according to Taiwan’s Industrial and Commercial Times report.
However, the report did not give any specific reason for the withdrawal and neither has there been any official word from Apple Inc. itself. But Apple Inc. generally follows the trend of discounting and pulling off their old devices and launching new ones.
Last year, Apple Inc. discounted the production of Apple iPhone 5 handsets with immediate effect, even making sure that it is no longer available for sale the whole worldwide, when they launched the iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S models.
Apple had initially expected to profit a lot from the colourful iPhone 5C Smartphone, but reports suggested that the sales were rather disappointing. The iPhone 5C undersold expectations whereas the pricier iPhone 5S garnered more interest leading to shortage in supply. A report, then, had also claimed that Apple had cut down the iPhone 5C production orders just a month after it hit the shelves, as the demand was low but supply plenty.
