This year’s MWC has been very interesting with lots and lots of smartphone launches. Samsung and HTC launched their flagships one day prior to the actual MWC launch day. Some of the top brands launched their amazing hardware in every segment. But the highlight of the show was the budget segment which saw many launches. Let’s have a look-
Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet-
Sony needs no introduction for its best-in-class smartphones. Continuing the legacy of the best looking devices, Xperia Z4 was introduced by Sony at MWC 2015. It comes with some of the best and top of the line specifications any Android tablet would have ever had. 10.1 inches 2K display and Snapdragon 810 make it a powerhouse. And it’s waterproof too!
Sony Xperia M4 Aqua-
Sony has been very successful in waterproofing its devices, but this feature was limited to just top end devices. Now, Sony has decided to bring it a more affordable segment. Apart from being waterproof, it looks exactly like the Xperia Z3 in terms of design. It is powered by Snapdragon 615, runs the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop and has a 13MP rear camera.
Microsoft Lumia 640 & 640 XL-
Microsoft has been targeting the budget and mid segment to keep their sales graph up. Lumia 640 is their latest entry; it offers 5 inches 720p display, Snapdragon 400, 8MP+1MP camera and LTE connectivity at a price between $155 and $177.
While Lumia 640 XL has better specs and price too. It has a 5.7 inches 720p display, Snapdragon 400, 13MP+5MP camera, 3000 mAh battery and LTE connectivity at a price between $211 and $245.
Lenovo has been creating a buzz in the budget segment and is giving tough competition to the companies like Xiaomi. Lenovo has announced A7000 which is the successor of the much famous A6000. It comes with Android Lollipop out-of-the-box. Other than this, it also has Dolby ATMOS which is the first on any smartphone.
