Huawei Honor 6 Review- Is it The Best Smartphone Under Rs. 20,000

huawei honor 6Chinese Mobile Handset has become a rage in India this year and a recent addition to this is Huawei Honor 6. The likes of Xiaomi and Huawei are giving tough competition to the giants like Samsung. The good news for consumers is that quality of these smartphones is comparable to the top of line phones and they are priced at extremely affordable range.

Huawei was earlier known for their data cards and routers but now has also ventured in the mobile handset. The mindset of the Indian customer is also changing and they no longer associate Chinese products with low quality cheap products.

Huawei has collaboration exclusively with Flipkart and Huawei Honor 6 is available at Rs. 19,999. The phone has everything made in China. Let’s check out how Huawei fares against the brands such as Xiaomi, Gionee, Oppo, Lenovo and other competitors who have phones in the same range.

Display and look:

The Huawei Honor 6 looks very similar to iPhone 4s and Lava Iris Pro 30. This Smartphone has a back which looks like glass but it is actually plastic. Another addition to its look is the metallic trim around the edges but this is also fake. Overall, it gives a good look to the phone but it would be wise to use a protective cover to prevent scratches.

The phone is 7.5 mm thick and because of its plastic body weighs only 130 grams. Display is 5 inch and the phone is available in standard black and white colors. It has a resolution of 1080×1920 pixel and pixel density of 445ppi.

On the right side of the phone one can find volume and power button. Also, there is a flap that covers the Micro SD Card and Micro SIM slot. There is a 3.5 mm jack space on the bottom.

Huawei Honor 6 Specifications:

If we talk about specifications of Huawei Honor 6, it can certainly match with top of the line smartphones. Processor is Kirin 920 octa-core and it has 3GB of RAM which can ensure smooth functioning of the phone. Huawei Honor 6 has 16GB of internal memory space which can be further expanded to 64GB with the help of a microSD card.

Rear camera is 13 MP with dual LED flash and 5 MP front camera for selfies. The connectivity options includes Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and NFC.

As the screen is not IPS Panel, there is difficulty in looking at the phone screen from different angle as well as when you are out in Sun. However, the Honor 6 screen is definitely better than most phones in Rs. 20,000 category. The phone runs on Android 4.4.2.

The wallpaper of lockscreen is different every time when one unlocks it. All the apps are stacked on the homescreen itself and there is no folder for storing apps.

If we talk about themes, there are only 3 and other themes cant be added. The phone does not have too many pre installed apps which we think is a good thing. The useful ones are Kingsoft Office suite and a File Manager.

Huawei Honor 6 Battery and Camera:

Huawei Honor 6 has a battery of 3100 mAh and the company boasts that battery can last over one day. However, the battery last only a good 15- 20 hours under heavy usage. The secret is to switch off wifi when not using internet and keep the display brightness to medium and Huawei Honor 6 will give you a full day coverage.

The rear camera is 13 MP and the front camera is 5 MP. Both the cameras seems to be competing with each other in terms of picture quality. The rear camera works fairly in low light, however the front camera gives stunning results for selfies.

Conclusion:

There are some flaws in Huawei Honor 6 but nothing is perfect. If you are looking for best smartphone under Rs. 20,000 then this phone is your best bet.
