Huawei Honor Holly Review

Huawei-Honor-Holly-Main-2Huawei, the global ICT solutions provider, is fast gaining ground in India with their sleekly designed Smartphones and majestic features. With the Huawei Honor 6 already making a place for itself in the market, Huawei has come up with another exceptional device – the Huawei Honor Holly.

Huawei is known to be the manufacturer of several lucrative devices over the years, with Huawei Honor Holly being the latest entrant released in the month of October this year. It has been priced at an extremely affordable price tag of Rs. 6,999, and has a decent range of features which betters many of its competitors having higher price tags.

The basic features one can find in Huawei Honor Holly are:

  • 5 inches HD IPS LCD capacitive touch screen
  • Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS
  • 3GHz Quad-core Mediatek Processor
  • 8MP Primary camera with LED flash
  • 2MP Secondary camera
  • 1GB RAM
  • 16GB internal storage expandable up to 32GB
  • Li-on 2000mAh battery

The device is gifted with a 5 inch display screen but yet, is quite light when compared to its competitors. It is made up of plastic with a glossy back cover, which may not appeal to many as it attracts a lot of smudges but the thick side walls make for a good steady grip. It has a removable back cover with battery and two SIM slots – 3G and 2G, and microSD card slot.

Honor Holly’s 5 inch display has the necessary HD resolution, with a very swift response and sensitivity to touch. It also has the necessary brightness required for outdoor conditions during bright sunlight. Though the display does attract a lot of smudges, a screen protector will make away with this, easily.

Honor Holly comes with an 8 megapixel primary auto focus back camera with BSI sensor and LED flash. The camera manages to focus quite easily and under good lighting conditions has no issues whatsoever in capturing colours, patterns and details. But sometimes the output seems to have a slightly yellowish tinge and also under low light conditions, the images have a lot of noise. The 2MP front camera makes for a good deal with both selfies and video calling output being decent.

Huawei Honor is endowed with a 2000mAh Li-ion removable battery. It takes around 2 hours to completely charge the phone, but the battery backup is not something the device can be proud of. It will last a day if the usage is limited to a few calls, a few minutes of internet surfing and music, but heavy users has to keep the charger handy. It runs for an average of 10 hours normally.

Storage and Hardware

Huawei Honor Holly comes with an internal storage of 16GB with about 13GB available for the users, and an expandable storage of 32GB. It has one of the best storage space in the price range it falls.

Huawei Honor Holly runs on a 1GB RAM and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Mediatek MT6582 processor and 400 MP GPU. It can also efficiently run heavy games or videos in terms of graphic.

Holly runs on the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system having a modified user interface. The UI, which is the apps icon, has a very pleasing effect on the eye, and the big screen also makes the usage of the keyboard much easier and responsive.

The Huawei honor holly seems to be a pretty decent bet, and one of the beeter phones in its price bracket. Its biggest advantage is its 16GB internal storage and a decent performance in terms of a smartphone. However, the battery is a big worry. So if you are looking for a decent phone in a sub-7K category, this is one of the best deals for you.
