The much-anticipated Tuesday launch event by Google, where the company is set to reveal new Nexus smartphones – believed to be made by Huawei and LG this year – alongside the next-generation Chromecast dongle. However, there is no shortage of leaks related to the long-rumoured Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P.
Before the Tuesday’s launch, rumours about the purported pricing, pre-order dates, availability details, and some missing features on the new Nexus devices were doing rounds on the Internet. And we have collected all the details of the rumours in this post.
The report stated by the Andriod Police, the pre-order of the LG Nexus 5X will start on Tuesday in countries such as the US, the UK, Korea, Japan, and Ireland with a price tag of $379.99 (approximately Rs. 25,250) for the 16GB model. According to the Amazon India listing, the Nexus 5X to come in Carbon, Quartz, and Ice Blue colours, while the Huawei Nexus 6P is considered to be the high-end Nexus this year and will cost $499.99 (approximately Rs. 33,000) for the 32GB model.
Recently, Google has suggested that it will announce the Nexus 6P in 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB storage options.
In Countries like the US, the UK, Ireland, Canada, and Japan, pre-orders of the Nexus 6P is also said to be available from Tuesday. Should the leaked prices are true, then both the Nexus smartphones will be priced lower than their predecessors – Nexus 5 and Nexus 6.
Another report states that Google intends to sell its Nexus devices this year only through its exclusive Google Store, which may mean that the US’s carrier stores will not contain Nexus. However, It remains indecisive if it will be offered through other online stores for now – Amazon India for example, had listed the Nexus 5X briefly last week.
