LG launched its fifth variant on Thursday, LG G4 Beat, and the smartphone will be available in Europe and Latin America including France, Germany, and Brazil this month, alongside Canada, India, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, and Turkey, this month. However, the company has not revealed the exact price and launch date of the handset in India.
LG G4 Beat runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and sports the LG UX 4.0 UI which was introduced with LG G4. The handset features a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) resolution display that is smaller as compared to its predecessor LG G4 which has a 5.5-inch QHD display. The LG G4 Beat is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm snapdragon 615 processor that is clocked at 1.5GHz coupled with 1.5 GB RAM and Adreno 405 GPU.
The smartphone bears an 8MP rear autofocus camera along with 5MP front-facing camera. However in contrast, the G4 Beat Latin America version would feature a better 19MP rear camera similar to that of LG G4 while, the front-facing camera would be 5MP.
Following the predecessor LG G4’s specifications, the G4 Beat includes Manual Mode, Gesture Interval Shot, Colour Spectrum Sensor and laser autofocus, whilst the storage capacity to be 8GB onboard. As compared to LG G4’s 3000mAhbattery, its successor to have a 2300mAh battery which is a slightly lower removable battery, measuring 142.7×72.6×9.85mm and weighs 139 grams. The smartphone comes in Metallic Silver, Ceramic White, and Shiny Gold colour variants, and connectivity options include: 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, NFC, A-GPS, Glonass, and USB 2.0.
During the launch, the President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, Juno Cho, said, “Too often, mid-tier phones sacrifice overall usability in order to include that one killer feature,” he added, “Our goal with the LG G4 Beat was to create a phone that was not only well- balanced in terms of display, camera, performance and design but delivered terrific value and satisfaction.”
