After Yu Yuphoria, Micromax’s subsidiary Yu Televentures has teased its upcoming high-end smartphone, Yutopia. And this time the company hints the build of the device.
The image that was teased shows the metal frame of the smartphone, or possibly chamfered edges of the smartphone’s metal body. The image reads,” R.I.P Plastic and sandstone True Power Lies In Metal”, probably hinting OnePlus and Xiaomi about their builds.
Considering Micromax’s earlier releases such as Yu Yureka, Yuphoria, Yureka Plus, and Yunique, which has plastic body design, Micromax’s Yutopia would be considered as the company’s first smartphone that has metallic build.
Earlier this month, Rahul Sharma, Company’s co-founder in Twitter post introduced the Yu Yutopia as the most powerful phone on the planet and he gladly announced it will be from India. With the metal build, a premium (for Micromax) price tag could also be expected.
Before the launch of the Yu Yunique in September, Geekbench listed a high-end smartphone from Micromax’s subsidiary dubbed Yu550, and an Indian import/ export manifest site also listed. The Yu550 may be the high-end smartphone the company has been teasing.
Geekbench listing featured few specifications such as a 1.5GHz octa-core Snapdragon 810 (MSM8994) processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. The device will sport a 5.2-inch full-HD display and will run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop-based build of Cyanogen OS. And in the multi-core test, the Yu5050 scored 4622 and 1353 in single-core test.
The Indian import/ export site, Zauba, on the other hand, listed the Yu5050 featuring dual-SIM support; a 5.2-inch display, and microSD card support. The Micromax Yu5050 smartphones were shipped from China and had a declared value of Rs. 20,295 to Rs. 20,752. To be noted is that import/ export website price listings are only declared values, and usually are not accurate reflections of an actual market price.
