Motorola has reduced the price of Rs 3000 on Moto G (Gen 2). Yesterday, Motorola India has tweeted the discount, and like all Motorola’s mid-range smartphone is now exclusively available on Flipkart, for Rs 9, 999. Previously the company has announced a short-duration discount on Moto G and this is the first time that the prices have been reduced on a permanent basis.
In other countries, the prices of the handset to reduced $150, however, the company has not divulged any official reason behind this move. It is expected that the move will pave a way for the arrival of the new Moto G. Grapevine suggest that the Moto G (Gen 3) to be launched around September.
Moto G (Gen2) is powered by 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor and Adreno 305 GPU coupled with 1GB RAM. The handset features a 5-inch HD IPS LCD display and features an 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera.
It was rumoured that the upcoming Moto G (Gen 3) to be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 610 SoC, but later it is been said that a Snapdragon 410 SoC to be incorporated. This move was considered to be a disappointing upgrade considering its price point. The hearsay is that the specifications include a 4.97-inch HD display, 1GB of RAM, 8GB internal storage, a 13MP-5MP camera combination and Android Lollipop v5.1.1 with 16GB internal storage.
If the rumours were to be believed, the camera specifications of the handset will be a dissimilar upgrade over its successor Moto G (Gen 3). Although, the company has not revealed officially about the cut of prices for the new Moto G as well, considering that phones in lower budget segment than Moto G now feature similar or better specifications
