After unveiling the devices at MWC 2015, Samsung launched both the devices – Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge – last month. As it was announced earlier, both the smartphones will go on sale today all over the world including India.
Since their launch in India, both the devices were on pre-order on various online as well as offline stores. Samsung had announced that it will provide various offers to the people who pre-book one of the devices. The offers included one-time screen replacement, payback points and price protection until six months. While the offers from certain retailers included exchange offer and cash on delivery.
Both, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge will be available in three variants – 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. The prices of Galaxy S6 will start at Rs 49,900 for 32GB, Rs 55,900 for 64GB and Rs 61,900 for 128GB model. On the other hand, the prices of Galaxy S6 edge start at Rs 58,900 for 32GB, Rs 64,900 for 64GB and Rs 70,900 for 128GB variant.
The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge come with similar specifications that include 5.1-inch Super AMOLED QHD (2560×1440) display that brings the pixel density to 577ppi. Both of them are powered by octa-core Exynos 7420 processor that is coupled with 3 gigs of RAM. They come with a 16MP rear facing camera with OIS and 5MP selfie camera.
Both the devices run the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop with TouchWiz UI on top. The difference in both the devices comes in the battery department, the Galaxy S6 has 2550mAH battery and Galaxy S6 edge has 2600mAh battery. Though the screen size is equal in both the devices but, as the name suggests, Galaxy S6 edge comes with dual edged screen, which is the USP of the device.
