Few weeks after announcing their flagship devices, Samsung is all set to launch the devices in India. Samsung has sent out press invites for an event to be held in New Delhi on Monday where they will launch the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.
This would just be the launch event and the smartphones won’t be made available until April 10. Samsung might open up the pre-orders for the devices. The date of April 10 was announced by Samsung for the global rollout of Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.
The pricing of both the devices is set to be on the upper side and will be comparable to Apple devices. Recently, Samsung Netherlands has announced the pricing of Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge in local currency and the shipping date for the devices was mentioned as April 10.
The Samsung Galaxy s6 and Galaxy S6 Edge will be available in 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB variants. The Netherlands website of Samsung listed the pricing of 32 GB variant of both the models. The 32 GB variant of Galaxy S6 was priced at EUR 699 (Rs. 48,300 approx.) and the 32 GB variant of Galaxy S6 Edge was priced at EUR 849 (Rs. 58,600 approx.). Samsung has not announced the pricing of other variants and will only be made available when the date will come closer.
Both, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge come with a newer design and better specs than its predecessors. The fingerprint scanner has been improved to work with just a tap, similar to iPhone, from the inaccurate swipe gesture in Galaxy S5. To rival Apple Pay, Samsung has introduced its own payment system named Samsung Pay, which, according to Samsung, could be used at any place where plastic money is accepted.
The Indian pricing of the devices will only be confirmed when Samsung makes them available in India. It is expected that the price would be much beyond the Rs. 50000 mark that Samsung has already crossed.
