Xiaomi has announced that the Mi 4i smartphone to be available for purchase without registration form Tuesday. The news was posted on the social channels and the company confirmed that the handset will be available in an open sale model via Flipkart, Snapdeal, Amazon and the company’s official website Mi.com. The smartphone comes in unveiled Dark Grey and White colours.
Earlier in Global Mi Premiere event in April, the handset was launched with a price tag of Rs. 12, 999 and it is considered to be the first smartphone to have launched outside China. However, the smartphone was already available for sale without registration on Flipkart and Mi.com at the time of writing.
The dual-SIM based Xiaomi Mi 4i smartphone has a unibody polycarbonate build with a soft touch matte finish and anti-grease coating. The handset supports a 4G connectivity and also compatible with LTE brands in India. It is coated by fully laminated OGS Corning Concore IPS display that protects the 5-inch full-HD display (1080×1920 pixels) and has a 441ppi pixel density. The display of the handset features a Sunlight Display which optimises the display for visibility under the bright light.
Xiaomi Mi 4i is powered by a 64-bit Octacore Snapdragon 615 processor coupled with an Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB RAM. The handset runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop and MIUI on top. For the first time, the Chinese smartphone supports 6 Indian languages-Hindi, Bengali, Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam, and Tamil.
The smartphone sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and dual-tone flash. It also bears a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and 16GB of inbuilt storage, with no expansion slot. The Mi 4i is backed by a 3120mAh battery, and has an advantage of a quick charge feature that charges the battery up to 40 percent in 1 hour, and 100 percent in 3 hours
