As per latest insights, Airtel stores have recently begun selling the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G smartphones. The telecom service has tailored special postpaid plans for the device. Until recently, only Flipkart was authorised to sell the Redmi Note 4G. According to Airtel, the device units available through the telecom service shall not be locked to Airtel Network.
Further, the names of the six cities, which would sell the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G through Airtel outlets have also been revealed- those being, Bengaluru, Hyderbad, Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi-NCR and Kolkata. Airtel has launched a dedicated Mi page, which users can access to book or select the preferred Airtel store from where they would like to pick up the Redmi device. While the bookings had begun earlier, sales would start from today.
Interestingly, Airtel has also announced a Mi day every week wherein customers can just walk in selected Airtel stores and buy the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G without pre booking.
Airtel has made it a prerequisite for Airtel prepaid consumers or non-Airtel consumers to activate Airtels myPlan (postpaid) prior to purchasing the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G. Postpaid customers of Airtel who activate at least 500MB 3G data are allowed to purchase the device with no need for selecting other plans.
In the aforementioned cities where the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G would be available via Airtel stores, users will be updated to 4G networks from existing 3G when 4G services are functional. The update to 4G will occur at the same monetary rate as the existing 3G plans.
In Bengaluru, where Airtel 4G network is already functional, users can avail 10GB data by accessing the Airtel Live website through their Redmi Note 4G device.
