Following the new iPhone models went on sale in select countries on last Friday, just after three days, Apple has announced that the new iPhone models –iPhone 6s, and iPhone 6s Plus have sold more than 13 million units. The company has declared that the new devices would be available in India from October 16.
Apple had announced last year that the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus was sold more than 10 million units, which was a record at that time. And Apple has broken its earlier record by the sale of over 13 million units.
The American company had announced earlier this month that the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will be available in four colours: Silver, Gold, Space Grey, and a new Rose Gold Aluminium finish. The new iPhone models became available to customers on Friday in Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Singapore, the UK, and the US.
Tim Cook, CEO of Apple said, “Sales for iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus have been phenomenal, blowing past any previous first weekend sales results in Apple’s history, customers’ feedback is incredible and they are loving 3D Touch and Live Photos, and we can’t wait to bring iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus to customers in even more countries on October 9.”
From October 9, iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will be rolled out worldwide to more than 40 additional countries and territories including, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Maldives, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Taiwan, Greenland, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Isle of Man, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia.
While in Middle-East countries like in Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, the new iPhone models will become available on October 10. iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will be available in India, Malaysia and Turkey on Friday, October 16 and in over 130 countries by the end of the year, said Apple.
